USE YOUR SENSES

BE OLFACTORILY AWARE

Humans are largely dependent on our sense of sight. The hum of everyday life tends to dull our other senses, leaving our vision as the primary way humans interact with our environment. However, when one has the chance to visit the woods for a quiet weekend, sometimes the balance temporarily shifts back towards the natural way, and senses become reengaged.

That's how bigfoots live, day in and day out. They are intimately aware of the sounds, smells, and feeling of the woods. Their very lives depend on it. It seems reasonable that a creature so in tune with its senses would be practically impossible to fool. Props to the 'squatch!

When in the woods, you should consider sitting quietly for a while. With practice, it will increase your observation skills. When sitting, you'll observe the forest noises, and you might find yourself lost in the natural sounds that are worthy of attention. You might also notice the feel of earthy substrate beneath you, the taste of night's woods, or the smell of an unknown animal. Smell, and learn. Tune into the other senses. Put yourself into the mind of a sasquatch. You might be surprised how much there is to observe.
